First, after getting everything onboard...
...we had to sort everything out...

Our first day was strange. Sunny one minute and dull the next. but with a constant fresh NorthEasterly breeze.

That is why you see Ian and John reasonably well wrapped up here as they organize everything on the boat.

Basically, on this sailing trip, John was the brains, experience and voice of moderation, Ian was the cook and the tidyness expert, while I was the brawn, bad influence, onboard wit and head instigator of "cunning plans" (while trying to refrain from humming the 'Captain Pugwash' theme).

Although we are three very different characters, we found that the combination of our very different skills, tallents and personalities made us a very efficient and well balanced group. A bit like the Christian Church, we all use our many and different tallents for the good of all.

In the picture on the right you can see the cooking and washing facilities. Ian's bed is on the far side. At the bottom left of the picture you can just make out the top of the captains bunk. As Ian stands there, we can see how he is about three inches too tall (suggestions by Reuben to take him in at the knees were firmly rejected).

Meanwhile, Captain John demonstrates his knowledge, skill and persistance...

And soon we were gliding through the water...

And by the end of our first afternoon we had covered quite a distance...
